Although our official campus
is only 30 acres, we like to think of all Costa Rica as our actual campus!
Full time boarding students enjoy a variety of weekend activities that
enrich their experience and appreciation of Costa Rica. These range
from visits to the Arenal Volcano area, the vibrant cloud forests of
Monteverde, camping trips to nearby beaches, white water rafting,
cave-spelunking, horseback riding, sailing, snorkeling, scuba diving (scuba
certification is available for those who are uncertified) surfing and
kayaking. They can also attend cultural events in Liberia, Santa Cruz and
San José. All are included as part of the full time boarding student
tuition. The activities are also open to 5-day boarders and day
students at an additional cost. Usually, an overnight trip is taken
every-other weekend, with the intermediate weekend being spent on campus or
on day-trips. Many boarding students choose Country Day School because
they can not only get the same or better college preparatory education
available at many other schools, but because they also get to participate in
these exciting weekend programs!
