Experiential Studies

Country Day School believes in a traditional approach to education, enhanced through experiential learning whenever possible. Given our geographically advantageous location, there exist unique opportunities to take learning outside the classroom.

Students at every grade level have the opportunity to participate in experiential learning trips and studies designed to enhance our traditional college-preparatory approach, where students receive previous classroom preparation to later engage in outdoor hands-on learning.

This provides students with the opportunity to put into practice theoretical knowledge they receive in class and apply their observational, data collecting and problem solving skills in the external world.

Experiential learning is not exclusively related to science. It also allows students to explore and become inspired by the surrounding environment to awaken their creative expression, which manifests itself through art, writing and other forms of expression.
