Info for invitation to Independence Day

This Friday, September 12th, Country Day School – Guanacaste will be celebrating Costa Rica’s Independence Day with different presentations on stage, and a Cultural Fair, including typical food.

Students will have regular classes until 9:50 am, and school will end at 12:30pm, with buses leaving at this time.

The Independence Day Festival is organized by the Spanish Department and Mr. Berey’s 10th and 11th Grade History class, and is open to students, parents and members of our community.

The program starts at 10:00 am in the cafeteria, with presentations on stage (CDS-G and students from neighboring schools), followed by a cultural fair that will run until 2:30.

The cultural fair will include a kid’s zone with games for younger children, a variety of entertainment opportunities for all ages (rumor has it that we may even have a mechanical bull!), as well as typical Costa Rican dishes.

The fair is organized by 10th and 11th grade students to raise funds for their upcoming fieldtrip to Washington D.C.

Our official school day will end at 12:30, with buses leaving at this time. However, students who are accompanied by parents or guardians, as well as all guests, are welcome to enjoy the fair until 2:30.

Keep in mind that there will be no student transportation provided after 12:30 pm.

On this special day, students are allowed to wear Costa Rican colors, or Costa Rican typical attire, instead of the school uniform.

Come and support this wonderful event! Bring your family and friends!
