Hi Everyone! This is a busy time of the year as always. It seems February comes and the calendar fills up for just about every day for the rest of the year. Open houses, dances, sports tournaments, so many after school activities, fundraisers, and new parents are dropping in and/or calling every single day asking about enrolling their kids for next year. I had 20 new inquiries last week alone and already I have families with a total of 10 children scheduled for visits this week. It seems as though we may be looking at another burst of new families coming to Guanacaste in the fall with elementary and high school students and that's good news for everyone.

Community Open House on February 25th!

We will be holding our Community Open House and Curriculum Fair this February, 25th in the school cafetorium and throughout the school.  The purpose of the Open House is to acquaint community members with our school, our mission, its staff and all its offerings.  We welcome both new and prospective parents, as well as families who may have experimented with other programs and may now be considering a move back.  There will be ample opportunities to meet our staff, learn about all exciting programs and activities, meet existing parents, and tour our campus.

We also invite area realtors, businessmen and businesswomen and anyone else interested in learning more about our school to come join us.  It will be a fun afternoon with presentations, music, slideshows and more.  It is our way of opening our "home" for all to see and making it easy for anyone to learn as much as they want about our school.

Here are a few pictures of the students painting Flags in preparation for the event.

Model United Nations

If you have a son or daughter in high school please encourage him/her to be a part of the Model United Nations group that will be going to Lincoln School in San Jose later this semester to participate in an amazing event. This is a fantastic experience and a wonderful opportunity to enrich their college portfolios! See Mark Sluzky or Kim Baldwin for more information.

New Teachers for Next Year

We have already hired six new teachers and dorm counselors for next year that we are very excited about. I will be giving more information about them at a later date, but we are very excited about how they will enrich our program.
