International Boarding School

Welcome to Country Day School Guanacaste. Our beautiful school, its wonderful staff, and our incredible location together make us the hidden jewel of Northwestern Costa Rica and the only American boarding school in Central America. I warmly invite your interest, and we stand ready to assist you in every phase of your application.

Country Day School is a private, non-sectarian university-preparatory day and boarding school with a coeducational, international student body of nearly 150 students from around the world. The program encompasses all levels from Pre- Kindergarten through elementary, middle and high school, with full-time and five-day boarding available in grades 8th – 12th. The language of instruction is English, and Spanish is taught as the major second language to all students. The school year extends from mid-August to early-June. In all its offerings the school is committed to rigorous standards in instruction and learning. Upon completion of their studies, students gain entrance to selective colleges and universities in the United States, Costa Rica, and around the world.
