Parents Letter:

To all CDSG parents

From Robert W. Trent, School Director

Welcome back to a new year at CDSG!  We have been busy with construction all summer and the new buildings are truly amazing.  The new elementary building and new playground will be ready for our use Tuesday. The new dining room/theater complex will need another week to finish details, mainly in the kitchen. During the first week of school we will serve lunch in the old cafeteria while we are finishing the new one. The old school is empty at this point so security at lunch will not be an issue.

This is a reminder that school starts promptly next Tuesday, August 21 with a full day from 7:30 to 2:30. Elementary students should come to the new elementary building and go directly to their classrooms, following the signs in that new building. Secondary students and boarders, grades 7-12 will go directly to the gym at 7:30 for an opening assembly with me, followed by homeroom by grade levels.

Signs for traffic flow will direct you to drop off and parking areas, some of which might still be under final construction.

For your calendar we have 3 events in the second week of School:

  • Secondary back to school program to meet the teachers: Monday Aug. 27 2:45 to 4:30
  • Elementary back to school program to meet the teachers: Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2:45 to 4:00.
  • Community picnic and ribbon cutting for new elementary building and new dining room/theater complex on Saturday, September 1, 10:00 to 2:00. Bring your friends.

I look forward to seeing old friends and new ones next Tuesday. Our new and returning teachers are excited to see your children. Have a good weekend and holiday.

Best wishes,

Robert W. Trent
